This Blog Isn't Your Free Market
Hey Everyone,
I'm home now, thank you to my wonderful boyfriend Wayne for getting me here. And Nichole, sorry about the phone.
Since I'm home and back in the groove of things, I figure it's time I gave a little rant that's been due for a little while now. I'm sure that other blog-holders will share in my rant once they realize what it is about...
Lately, and it's always when you least expect it, there have been many "anonymous" comments to my blog. Now when I get online, I have my blog rigged up to send any new comments to my email when I get them so I can know when I received them, and so I can see them relatively soon after they're written without having to go to my site every day. Now on many occasions, especially lately, I get online to find someone's commented on my blog. There's that brief moment of excitement and anticipation in which one is thrilled at the knowledge that someone somewhere has read what you've put good time and effort into writing, and thought it good enough, or in some cases bad enough, to grace your site with their comments. However when I actually read the comment, all the good feelings and excitement are violently dashed against the rocks.
IT'S SOMEONE'S FREAKING ADVERTISEMENT!
Now I know that I am not the only one who has had this problem, and my response naturally is to delete the filth from my blog, why would I want others to waste their time reading it? This isn't their freaking blog, it is mine. It is my space to freely write whatever comes to mind, whatever I've written, how I feel about certain issues, anything that I freaking want. However it IS NOT their area to display ads that feature ways of winning free software, or free computers, or other gimmicks that they think people will actually look into without a second thought, WRONG! And not only do they put these stupid advertisements on your comment area, but they always throw in a stupid remark about your blog, it seems, to make it ok... something like "This blog is awesome! You wanna know another really awesome blog? Go to stupidblognamehere to win some free stuff and see how awesome it is!!"
Queers. Please desist from advertising on this blogsite, your advertisements will be deleted on site.

That was in viloation of my rant so I will delete it. Plus you were being mean to my boyfriend. Ahh, the power of the blog administrator.
that has to be some kind of violation of the first amendment. what happened to freedom of speech? you are hindering that person's self expression and i think that's wrong.
Freedom of speech would be having the ability to have this blog in the first place. However, its a question of ethics whether or not someone decides to place an ad in the blog and come off as innocently reading the blog itself. And as the blog administrator I have the power and authority to delete anything I deem inappropriate or un-necessary from this blog. In the previous case, I did it just to annoy the individual. But in any case, that is protecting my own integrity, and the integrity of the people who are interested in me and my blog.
